I missed Wunderlist.
So I built something.

Wunderlist was the best task app ever made. Clean, fast, reliable. Then Microsoft acquired it, shut it down in 2020, and pushed everyone to Microsoft To Do. Nothing quite filled that gap.

So I built Toodyloo as a portfolio project, using modern tools I wanted to master: TanStack Start, React 19, Drizzle ORM, and Neon PostgreSQL. The entire app was developed with AI assistance, and it shows in every layer of the stack.

The result is a task app that feels familiar to Wunderlist fans but runs on a cutting-edge tech stack with real AI features baked in from day one.

Toodyloo connects to OpenAI in the backend so you can stop staring at a blank list. Describe what you need and the AI takes it from there.

Tell the AI what you want to accomplish and it builds a complete, structured list for you. Planning a trip? Launching a project? Just describe it.

Create tasks from a single prompt

Type a goal in plain English and Toodyloo generates individual tasks with priorities, due dates, and subtasks already filled in.

How it works under the hood

When you use the AI features, your prompt is sent to gpt-4o-mini via the OpenAI API. The response is parsed, validated with Zod, and saved directly to your account. Fast, structured, and type-safe from end to end.
